SPECIAL REPORT: Failed Car Bombing in Times Square

Posted by Admin on May 1, 2010

Time square was evacuted around 6:30 pm on Saturday, May 1, 2010 due to what police discovered was a failed bombing attempt.  There was a man reportedly Middle-Eastern in appearance running from the scene, but there is no name of a suspect available at this time.  No injuries are reported at this time.

A firefighter saw a “flash”, and smoke coming from what was described as an SUV, and a man running away.

Here is his quote from a Reuter’s article @ Yahoo! News:

“Another New York City firefighter who said he arrived early on the scene described the vehicle as a dark-colored SUV, and said it was parked at the corner of 45th Street and Seventh Avenue. He confirmed the vehicle was smoking and also said he saw “a flash” from the back of the SUV. The firefighter said a “mini-explosion” occurred around 6:30 p.m.” ~ NY Times Sq. Evacuated After Failed Car Bomb ~ Reuter’s

Due to scheduled and historic protests today, some speculation in the blogosphere is addressing the issues of International Workers’ Day (a labor holiday observed by Socialists, Communists, Marxists, Stalinists, and Anarchists worldwide), as well as being the day that Pro-Illegal Immigration Rallies were planned to occur in 70 cities (reportedly turnout for the latter was down compared to the protests in 2006).  Reports of someone who is Middle-Eastern looking brings up the subject of Islamic Terrorism.  Most people speculate that those may be the top 3 suspected sources for this attempted terrorist attack in the heart of The Big Apple.

Since the bomb was being detonated at 6:30 pm, it would have been targeted at the Matinee Crowd attending many top Broadway Shows in the area, and tourists.

Neo-Soviet Attempted Coup Underway at Georgian Military Base

Posted by Admin on May 6, 2009

MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW THIS POSTING SOON…

I also have some resource links listed in my Focus Page: War in Georgia from my coverage of the invasion back in August of 2008.

Georgia is basically at War with Neo-Soviet Russia – dealing with a Neo-Soviet Russian coup at a Military Base.  The officials within the Democratic Nation of Georgia have reported that those involved in the rebellion are following plans made by Neo-Soviet Russians who are also charged with bribery of those involved in what would appear from Georgia’s contentions to be mutinous actions within their military.

Below, please find an article from Reuter’s News service.  It is an excerpt.  The full article can be read by following the link below this article.

Georgia Says Coup Underway at Military Base

Reuters News Service |Tuesday,  5/5/09 | Matt Robinson

Georgia said on Tuesday a Russian-planned coup plot had been uncovered within the military of the former Soviet republic and a rebellion was under way at a military base near the capital.

The Interior Ministry said those involved in the plot had received money from Russia which has criticized NATO military exercises in Georgia due to begin on Wednesday.

“The main aim of this uprising was to disrupt the NATO military exercises,” Defense Minister David Sikharulidze told Reuters. “We are in negotiations with the soldiers at the Mukhrovani base and I hope this uprising will end soon.”

Sikharulidze said the commanders of the military base 19 km (12 miles) from the capital Tbilisi had been dismissed and the soldiers confined to barracks.

The Interior Ministry said one person had been arrested.

“They (the plotters) were receiving money from Russia,” ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili told a news conference. “It seems it was coordinated with Russia.”

The NEW “Chimera Flu” ( “Mexiflu” / “Swine Flu” / H1N1) Possible Pandemic

Posted by Admin on April 29, 2009

I have been following this story for a few days now, reading articles in the media, reports from various countries, and government agencies, official CDC & WHO reports, etc…  And, I will fully admit that I’m STILL trying to get a clear handle on exactly how much of a threat this NEW VIRUS really is as I know many others are as well.

WHY ARE THEY CALLING THIS “SWINE FLU” WHEN IT ISN’T???

You may notice that in the title of this post I have called this new virus a “Chimera Flu” – credit to my daughter for the name.  The papers today are reporting that many are rejecting the “Swine Flu” name for a variety of reasons.  This is a GOOD thing, because “swine flu” doesn’t accurately describe this new disease and how it is spread, and it is causing undue panic regarding the sale of pork food products.

Another unintended consequence of labeling this as “Swine Flu” is that it is creating a false sense of security among pig farmers, and others in rural areas because “old fashioned pig flu” has been around for AGES, can’t be transferred to humans except  by direct contact with the infected animal, and the prognosis really doesn’t differ from being infected with a “regular” Human flu virus.  [I have heard people on the internet making comments such as, “Why are people so worried, I had Swine Flu as a kid growing up on the farm and its no big deal” — not what you want people thinking in regards to this NEW VIRUS].

The whole “name thing” has personally been bugging me for some reason ever since I found out this was a combination of several genetic components of usually geographically isolated swine flu strains, the North American Avian Flu, and a Strain of Type “A” Human Influenza.  Clearly we are NOT dealing with a normal mutation of “Old Fashioned Swine Flu”.

To my great relief, the governments of various countries are calling for a “name change”.  The US is starting to use the scientific identifier of H1N1.  Honestly, there are so many different influenza strains out there, and they all have “HN” numbers I don’t think this is a good idea either — too easy for the average person to confuse it with other “regular” flus, or non-human infecting flus.  Using the H1N1 identifier is fine for scientists and researchers, but I think a “common name” would serve the public well at this point in time.  [Israel has called this the “Mexican Flu” which is in keeping with traditional naming schemes — where a virus is first identified is usually how it’s named – like the 1918 Spanish Flu was.  However, due to the political correctness portion of our world, I don’t think that will be considered “PC” enough.  Again why I am suggesting a name like “Chimera Flu” (which does give the proper impression that this is a genetically mutated virus containing several different “unrelated” virus markers).

MORE INFORMATION COMING!!!

Right now I am working on a “Focus Page” for the “Chimera Flu” which will contain a vast amount of resources, links, quotes, statistics, and information on a wide variety of different topics that pertain to viruses themselves, the scientific makeup of this new virus, resources for official information (like the CDC and WHO), “alternative” resources for “chatter” in the medical community, links to media articles, and government releases, and agencies, and more…

I will even be discussing some pretty plausible theories on the Who’s, Why’s and How’s that accompany this event — many of these theories at this point are honestly very plausible, and the people discussing these things are using reasoned arguments and solid facts to support them — it’s honestly fascinating stuff…  Of course, there are some theories that I personally don’t think have much weight, but I’ll include some of those too, so readers can make up their own minds…

HOW YOU CAN HELP IN THIS EFFORT:

At this point there is not much anyone who is not a research scientist, medical professional, or working for some goverment agency, or the media can really do about this besides help each educate each other, and to stay informed.  If you have links to information on anything regarding viruses, mutations, pandemics, and media articles you think are worth sharing, please consider dropping me a note via the comment section below this post.  All comments are moderated, so even if you don’t see your comment show up on this page, it doesn’t mean I won’t include your information with credit on the “Focus Page(s)” about this topic.

If you do decide to share information, I respectfully request that you supply a citation as to the source of the information — especially if you are supplying a quote, please include the name, occupation/position/title of the person commenting, and employer, date and a link to the article, or resource it appeared in.  This will save me a LOT of time because then I can easily double-check the info. before I include it.

AVOIDING PANIC THROUGH PREPARATION:

It’s never a good idea to panic – it always leads to mistakes, which can lead to undue suffering in any situation.  Please remember when researching this subject on your own that we truly don’t know what we’re dealing with yet — it’s too soon to tell.  It’s just one of those things (like a smoking volcano) that is a good idea to keep tabs on.  While this new virus certainly has our attention, again, panicking will do absolutely no good.  Remember those lists of “emergency preparation” that FEMA released shortly after Katrina, so people were better prepared for natural disasters and other emergencies?  Well, it’s a good idea to check on your survival supplies, or start gathering some if you haven’t already.

Remember even if this “Chimera Flu” turns out to be way less serious than it looks, that doesn’t mean having these preparatory items is a bad idea, or a bad investment.  My mother and grandmother both made sure to keep a well-stocked pantry, because as they always said, “You just never know” (Raising a family during the depression and WWII taught my Grandmother a lot of things about keeping a family safe during hard times.  My mother grew up during WWII, and living on a farm preparedness was just a way of life…

I will include much more on this subject on my Focus Page.

WHEN WILL THE “CHIMERA FLU” FOCUS PAGE BE READY?

I am aiming for at least a partial publication within the next 24-36 hours depending on how much time I need to spend on some other projects I have going at the moment (we homeschool, and with keeping the house in order it maay take me a bit to get everything organized.

A PERSONAL NOTE & PRAYER REQUEST:

Right now our famly is (somewhat) enjoying a ‘bitterweet’ time off work my husband has right now due to what they are calling a “temporary” layoff.  If you are the praying kind, we would definitely appreciate prayers and good wishes for my husband’s job situation — he’s applied to seemingly every shop in our area, and NO-ONE is hiring right now.

He is also looking at a possible weekly commute to Chicago where we have relatives, and he has more job contacts (he is a Journeyman Precision & Prototype Machinist/Tool & Die Maker with 18 years experience, and a wide variety of skills).  While a commute would be hard on our family, it may become a necessity, and I really would prefer not to have a “long-distance” marriage even if just for a while…  So please pray my husband can find a job locally, or that somehow his old shop gets some new contracts in (half of his shop is “at home” right now, so prayers for his co-workers and their families, and anyone experiencing layoffs right now would be a good thing to pray about as well…).

One more prayer request;  Praise God, my family just got over a NASTY flu they caught at the beginning of this month, and all of them (my 4 kids and husband) are all feeling almost 100% again.  I however, caught a severe Bronchial Infection about 5-7 days after they got sick.  Thanks be to God that I was able to “nurse” my family before I fell ill…  I was put on some strong antibiotics, a steriod, and given an inhaler, and the excruciating pain I felt went away after a few days.

The doctors tell me I have some “lingering irritation” but the infection is gone – Again THANK GOD!  [I have a real compassion for asthma sufferers and those with chornic respiratory illness…  I have given birth without drugs, and the pain I felt when my bronchial tubes spasmed when I TRIED to cough felt like someone was trying to rip my lungs right out of my chest, and I really don’t know anything scarier than feeling as if you cannot breathe!]

Just this last Monday, our 9 mo. old “kitten” who had been suffering from an upper respiratory infection (that he coincidently(?) came down with at the the same day as the rest of my family), we had to rush back to the vet.  He wasn’t eating, although he was still drinking and he was literally “wasting away”.  We tried every kind of food imaginable and resorted t feeding hi with a syringe like a baby, but there was really nothing we could have done to help him.  They ran a bunch of blood tests and it ws discovered he had feline leukemia, and he had already entered a “multiple organ failure” stage with white blood cell counts lierally “off the chart”, so we hd to mke the heartbreaking decision to have him put to sleep.  I truly believe God has a special place for our beloved pets, so another prayer I would request is that he has found his way across that “rainbow bridge”, and also that God would comfort my children as they moun the loss of our “kitten”, Hobbes.

Our beloved cat, Hobbes. May he RIP. We dont have many good pictures of him, but this shows his sweet face...

Our beloved cat, Hobbes. May he RIP. We don't have many good pictures of him, but this shows his "sweet" face...

One more prayer request…  On Monday night, even though I thought I was dealing pretty well with the death of our cat, I ended up in the ER with an “uncontrollable heartrate” that was hovering around 150 (those who exercise will realize this is at the very top of the “recommended heart rate” for exercise, and I wasn’t exercising!).  I was also having trouble communicating to my family as to how I was feeling — it was quite scary.  At the ER they checked me for all possible complications from my bronchial infection (chest X-Ray, CT scan with & without dye), and they checked my heart and monitored it (I think they did several ECGs, and some EEGs, too — talk about being hooked up with wires to all sorts of machines – it felt like I was “strapped in”!).  Anyway, after they ruled out blood clots, stroke, heart attack, etc…   I was also very dehydrated when I arrived at the ER with a very low potassium count, so they did some other blood tests and I got rehydrated through and IV.  After that they gave me some pretty strong sedatives so I could sleep till morning, and they could ‘keep an eye on my heart’, even though eventually we all came to the conclusion that it was a most likely a “prolonged panic attack”, that I didn’t “catch” before it started…   They were going to also keep me till morning so we could do a “just in case” stress test on my heart, and again they had given me some sort of seative and i did become quite drowsy.

Unfortunately, just as I was finally dozing off an infant came in screaming and crying.  You could tell the baby was in some sort of pain and distress, and despite my sedated self, the Mom i me wanted to jump up out of that bed and go help “save the baby”…. LOL  It ws at that point they decided that going home and getting rest might be a better idea as my heart rate started to climb again when I heard that baby… [Prayers that that child is OK now — it sounded bad whatever was making he/she cry like that…]

Anyway, I’m following up with two separate doctors – my regular MD, and a highly recommended psychiatrist (just in case).  We are still running blood tests (fasting tests) and a few other tests checking for a whole bunch of other physical ailments just to rule everything out that could physically be causing my high anxiety level – and especially the problems I had with communicating.  Please pray those come back “clean”.  One thing I’m a little worried about is that I could’ve had a “mini-stroke”.  I have a history of migraines and such and some of the latest medical info. I’ve seen was a study that showed a possible link between the two.  I’m also working with my (Pain Specialist) Orthopedic Surgeon for my back problems so prayers there will help too!  PRAISE GOD that I do have some wonderful medical professionals for a “support team”.  I feel very blessed in that…

Sorry, I really didn’t intend for this personal section/prayer request to be so long.  I guess it could be considered “therapeutic” for me to write all this out, so thanks for your patience and listening…

Time to get to work on that “Focus Page” (and get the girls started on their daily lessons).  Thanks in advance to any readers who want to submit information, as I stated above it would be greatly appreciated.  I’ve got a pretty long list of notes, and links, and such, but the more information the better, IMHO.

TAKE CARE EVERYONE!  And, remember — NO PANICKING! 🙂

Obama’s Contradictions and Lies about HIMSELF!

Posted by Admin on September 26, 2008

Hello loyal readers,

I’m sure most of you, like me, watched the debate between Sen. John McCain, and Sen. Barack Obama tonight.  It was certainly interesting…

At this moment I am going back through the debate, and having a great time picking out all the lies, inconsistencies, and contradictions made by Obama tonight.  While I’ve got a pretty long list already, I’d like to give my readers an opportunity to add to it!

So, if you remember a specific comment made by Obama that you know to be a (so-called) “mis-statement”, please feel free to make a comment below.  (Comments are moderated, so I will check back periodically as I’m doing my research to approve respectful comments).

If you are an Obama supporter running across this post, I’d like to hear from you as well – as long as you keep it clean, and respectful.  Was there something that you believe McCain said that wasn’t true about Obama?  If so, please submit that as well.  I will do my best to be fair in rebutting your charges against him with facts, and citations for my sources (the same as I will be doing to prove my case against Obama).

Ok, well I’ve got a LOT of stuff to go through right now, and some research to complete so I’ll wrap up this particular post.  If you run across anything else that you feel is important that I should include in my summation of the debate, please feel free to comment on that as well — or add your comments on the debate itself!  As I said – as long as it’s respectful, I welcome comments by Obama supporters (or Libertarians, or Greens, or any other party’s supporters) as well.

Take care for now everyone, and I’ll try to post my summation within the next few hours, if not in the morning.

Obama Digs Another Hole with New Campaign Ad – PART II

Posted by Admin on September 12, 2008

Well, a few hours ago I posted information about an ad that Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Obama had begun to air in various places around the country.  The title of the ad is “1982”, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you can view it at this URL: “New Obama Campaign Ad: “1982”.

Let’s run down 2 of the charges that Obama leveled against McCain in this ad…

OBAMA SAID: “Things have changed in 26 years, but McCain hasn’t.”

MISLEADING…
Just this morning (9/12/08) one of Joy Behar’s chief complaints expressed to John McCain when he went on the TV show “The View” was that McCain used to be a “maverick”, but that he was no longer that way.  McCain responded by saying that he was still the exact same person he’s always been.  It would seem that McCain’s own opponent agrees – McCain hasn’t changed in some very important ways over the last 26 years, and that is a good thing.

OBAMA SAID: “Admits he still doesn’t know how to use a computer” & “Can’t send an email”.

I hate to break it to Obama and his ad staff who are probably in the middle of congratulating themselves right now on their “new tone” attack ads, but I was right in the previous post where I postulated that perhaps John McCain did not use email, and did not type because I thought it may be difficult for him given his severe injuries in the crash of his fighter jet, and his 5+ subsequent years of torture and poor medical care in a POW camp in North Vietnam.

Following is an excerpt from an article that was posted on Forbes.com in which they reported – 0all the way back in 2000 – that McCain cannot type emails due to his injuries, and that his wife Cindy and he answer email together in the evenings – a daily ritual for the two.  It also shows that McCain is far from the computer illiterate, old and out of touch man Obama implied…

In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate’s savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. “She’s a whiz on the keyboard, and I’m so laborious,” McCain admits.

I’m rather sad that I am right about this.  I would prefer that John McCain not have been injured in the Vietnam War, and I know the vast majority of Americans agree that we completely respect his service and sacrifice to our country.  However, I would like to also point out that this makes John McCain particularly suited to addressing some of the most pressing issues facing our country.  He knows what sacrifice is, and he’s seen first hand the brutal nature of war.  That, IMHO, makes him much better suited than a Freshman Senator with no military experience to lead our country during a time of war.  Whether we like it or not, we are there, our enemies are STILL there, and we need someone who knows what works and doesn’t work when it comes to diplomacy, and heaven forbid, military actions if needed.

Right now I would like to share with Obama something that he should have, and probably would’ve learned had he attended a less racist church for the last 20+ years…

Proverbs 16:18 (King James Version):
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

For the Democrats who are becoming more and more disenchanted with Obama every day… Please try to look beyond your hatred for President Bush, and honestly look at your options here.  John McCain is NOT going to alter the Constitution, he is going to get the government back on track.  He recognizes that Bush was by no means perfect, and he wants to rectify that situation.  Please look with an open mind.  Visit his website, read his position on the issues, and don’t give in to knee-jerk reactions.

Barack Obama displays the hallmark traits of a Marxist.  His political campaign was launched in the home of an unrepentant known Communist “Revolutionary” Terrorist who bombed the Pentagon and the Capital building as the leader of the 60s terrorist organization the “Weather Underground” (sometimes referred to as “The Weatherman”).  He has accepted the endorsement of a very well-known, and rather radical socialist political group in Chicago throughout his career in the Daley Political Machine.  He has also spoken about attending socialist seminars in college at Columbia University.

Please also consider what socialism would indeed do to our country.  The first thing socialists do is take away the people’s rights, via “suspension” and it all goes down hill from there.  Consider this for a moment — let’s assume Obama is a righteous man, and “socialism would work if done the “right” way”.  What guarantee do we have that the next administration, or the one after that wouldn’t take advantage of the laws and plunge America into the hell that was the Soviet Union under the likes of Stalin, or Germany under Hitler, or China under Mao Tse-Tung?

Let’s join together and make our country strong, secure and prosperous.  We have the resources, and the know-how to make our country great again – as well as cleaning up Washington and getting rid of the special interests, and the “old boy network” and the corruption.  We can also work together to be responsible for our environment, and to tackle poverty and education issues by implementing all of our possible options in each area.  That American ingenuity, and ability to solve problems is one of the greatest things about our country.  Our freedom guarantees that we can pursue these things, and that ultimately we will be successful and not have to sacrifice any of our inalienable rights.

I know this may sound cheesy to some of you, but I’m really not bothered by that.  I have 4 children that I want to grow up in a peaceful world, and that demands that we take care of the threats facing our nation so that our enemies don’t have an opportunity to grow stronger, and to threaten us, and so our children are not the ones stuck with solving the problems.  That’s the hope I have for the future – a real hope built on solid, proven, successful ideals supported throughout the history of our country.  I honestly don’t know who can argue with that…

Well, thanks for listening to my somewhat rant! LOL  I do hope everyone has a great weekend – whether you agree with me or not! 😉

God bless,
LibertyRocks

Georgia Attacked – Russia invades U.S. Ally

Posted by Admin on August 11, 2008

EDIT 8/21/08: Typo – Thanks John!

I don’t think there are many people in the United States, or even in the world, who are not aware that Russia has invaded Georgia – a former Soviet (Russian) Province.  Georgia is one of our most loyal allies.  Russia has no right to be invading Georgia.  They are offering weak excuses for why they have done this – claiming that they are “protecting” Russian citizens.  (I can’t help but wonder why the Russian citizens are staying when apparently they could leave if they wanted to.)

The Flash Point: South Ossetia

The portion of Georgia that Russia has invaded is called South Ossetia.  In South Ossetia there have been “rebel” “separatist” groups active.  These groups are being directly supported by Russia.  Russia hasn’t just stopped at occupying this sovereign territory of Georgia, but just yesterday they bombed the capitol city of Georgia as well, and earlier this morning Russia sent even more air-bombing raids on Georgia.  The fighting is only getting worse, and already hundreds if not thousands of innocent civilians have died – along with presumably a fair number of military troops on both sides, and separatist “rebels”.

Russia Takes More Land

Russia has also decided to station their destroyers in the Black Sea outside another Georgian territory.  This area of Georgia is called Abkhazia.  Another report was in the media yesterday that stated Russia was sending 9,000 more soldiers into this province – again presumably to “keep peace” (how does one keep peace with bombing raids).

This is not Peacekeeping

This is no peacekeeping mission as Russia is trying to make the world believe.  Let’s at least be honest, Moscow – this is what is called war and you are waging it on a free nation that is allies with the United States.  Our own president back in 2005 promised the President of Georgia our support in threats against it.  I’m obviously not privy to know what is going on behind the scenes in the Pentagon, but publicly condemned Russia’s violence & Vice-President Dick Cheney has come out saying that there may be severe consequences for Russia if they do not end these attacks.  Right now, President Bush is flying back from China to deal with this situation in Washington, D.C..

Please help us – Georgian President

Published today is a letter from Georgia’s President imploring the help of the United States.  There is already talk among Georgians that we have left them unprotected, and unsupported.  That we should be doing something already for their civilians lay dying due to Russian bombs.

The Defense of an Ally

As much as I dislike war, and violence I can’t help but think that in order to be an honorable nation we must step up and defend our ally.  I can just hear the libs and isolationists now (imagine a whiny kid voice here): “You’re calling for war – you like war – you want people to die…”  Well, I’ll tell you what – WAR is what is going on right now in Georgia – one of our closest allies.  Someone who helps us when we need them.  A country that helped us in the War on Terror by sending the third largest contingent of troops.

We would not be going to WAR, we are coming to the DEFENSE of a very small nation, that is just getting on its feet – FREE for the first time since being controlled by Soviet Russia, and finally beginning to prosper.  Do you believe in real freedom for people?  Then you must recognize that Georgia is the innocent player in this.  It is Russia that has brought this to our door…

All of you who continually complain, “The world hates us”; do you really think they will have any more or less respect for us if we turn our backs on our word to an ally?  Think about that for a minute.  Good relations include coming to each others aid, and this doesn’t exclude when a country is attacked.  If anything – especially in a new country – it is perhaps most important.

Was “The Bear” Only Hibernating?

Russia’s leaders had to have known that attacking Georgia would put her allies in a position of having to come up against them.  I wonder if this was part of the plan overall – help Iran hold pressure against us while they take back some of their former captive nations.  Several Eastern-European nations have also offered support to war-torn Georgia stating that they well-remember what it was like to be a  “Captive Country” under Soviet rule – it doesn’t sound like they are convinced, and frankly neither am I, when Russia says it has put it’s goals of domination to rest.  The Presidents of Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, & the Ukraine have all said they are standing with the Georgian President against Russia whom they all see as the aggressor in this crisis.

As John McCain once said, “When I look in Putin’s eyes I see three things; K. G. B. “.  Putin is definitely up to his “old tricks”.  His training in the Communist machine has not gone unused.  Instead of the Communist Party, the leaders have merely become ruling oligarchs, and instead of the KGB doing the dirty work, the Russian mafia is said to be more active than ever.

Russia has also been helping Iran to continue building its nuclear program – despite the threats from Iran’s leaders that they want to “wipe Israel off the Map”, and all sorts of variations on the theme of “death to America”.  Was this part of their plan as well?  To get the US focused on their friends the Iranians, and refusing to help in Iraq all because they were planning to “re-“annex their former Soviet States?  Did they think our country would be too torn by internal strife over the Iraq war to be able to rouse the public into helping defend our ally?  I hope I am wrong in my suspicions, however, I do not trust the Russian Government, and I feel for the Russian people, and all the other innocent people who are suffering because of the greed of others…

A lot of liberals seem to think that the United States is fighting a war for oil in the Middle East right now.  However, we are going to be leaving Iraq eventually.  They are going to own their own country – to elect leaders and develop business & education & do everything else a thriving community does.  We are not going to “own” their oil, nor are we going to occupy them forever – what we are doing right now is teaching them to be able to stand on their own – and it’s working…

Russia on the other hand is not attacking Georgia with these eventual intentions.  Georgia is already sovereign and free.  Georgia elects its leader according to their own laws.  Russia has attacked the capitol of Georgia, and is fighting on the side of separatists (or maybe a better term would be domestic terrorists).  They are directly interfering with the affairs of the sovereign Georgian government with a legally elected President.

History Repeating

Another view of these developments by more than a few people around the web: Russia invading Georgia, is akin to Hitler invading Poland in 1939.  This is Putin & Russia’s “Sudetenland”.  I wonder if the allies of Georgia and freedom will come to the aid of these people, or if we will again stand by and watch as Europe gets gobbled up by a country that is violently overthrowing their neighbor.  The Russian Government has already warned the Ukraine as they have released information that alleges the Ukraine with helping Georgia right now (I say allege because I haven’t been able to verify if this is true or not, if it’s being reported by anyone else).

The Personal Side

It scares me that our country may be closer to war with Russia than at any time – perhaps since the Cuba Missile Crisis.  My daughter is coming “of age”, and if there is a new draft (or if she decides to volunteer) I won’t be too thrilled with the prospect of her serving – however, I would be immensely proud of her, and thankful for her sacrifices for the rest of our family, community & country, as well as the cause of Freedom & peace in our World.

I can’t personally think of any way we can avoid what may be to come unless Russia backs off.

A Prayer

May God bless the Georgian People, and may God Bless the USA and all her allies.  May God give our President and our government the strength and wisdom to make “all the right moves” at this dangerous time…

Take care of each other, everyone!

Iran Missile Launch Photo “Shopped”?

Posted by Admin on July 10, 2008

Alert parties with good eyes have identified two areas of an official photo released by Iran of their missile test, that appear to have been duplicated. The photo appears to have been altered. Please see the link below at Little Green Footballs for more information.

An Official Photo Released by the Iranian Government of
Missile Test May Have Been Photoshopped

Some readers may remember how common this ‘technique’ was during the Israel/Lebanon war a while back…  During that time newspaper editors ran photos that were either staged, and/or photoshopped.  There were a large numbers of these photos that came out during the war leaving one to theorize that perhaps the stringers the major news syndicates were receiving information and photos from were not ‘uninvolved’ parties.  It seemed more like outright propaganda, IMHO…

French Riots – Part Deux?

Posted by Admin on June 16, 2008

Well, they’re at it again… Readers here may remember the French riots back in November of 2005 that last for almost 3 weeks. During that time the rioting was perpetrated by dissaffected “youths” – more precisely Muslim “youths” all over France; starting in the Paris suburbs and quickly spreading to outlying towns and cities.

Tonight we receive news that riots are again plaguing Northern France. Approximately 60 cars were burned last night and French police were attacked with baseball bats and molotov cocktails…

Here is the coverage from “Big News Network”:

French Youths Riot in the Streets

Dozens of youths and police have clashed in northern France, leaving nine people injured.

Around 60 cars went up in flames as youths went on a rampage in the streets of Vitry-le-Francois, some 200 kilometres north of the capital Paris.

The youths, armed with baseball bats and Molotov cocktails, were only scattered after dozens of security forces quelled the unrest.

The scuffles broke out after a young man was murdered on Saturday evening.

Reports are slowly coming in giving a little more detail… Following is the coverage from 24News.com. Several policeman and firefighters were injured in the rioting last night…

French Youths Clash with Police

Lille – Dozens of French youths clashed with police in a town in northeast France overnight, burning cars during a rampage triggered by the killing of a 22-year-old man, an official said on Sunday.

Two police officers, two firefighters and five residents suffered minor injuries during the violence that raged until Sunday morning in Vitry-le-Francois, said Sylvaine Astic from the regional prefect’s office.

Armed with baseball bats and firebombs, about 50 youths went on a rampage, torching cars and setting fire to garbage bins in the town of 17 000 people, Astic told AFP.

The violence started around 22:00 (20:00 GMT) after the 22-year-old man was gunned down in Vitry-le-Francois. A suspect was arrested overnight.

About 60 police officers were dispatched to the town late on Saturday and remained in Vitry-le-Francois on Sunday.

A police union issued a statement denouncing what it termed as “hysteria” in relations between French youth and police.

“This started out as a murderous settling of scores,” said Nicolas Comte of the SGP-FO police union.

“But quickly this tragic event prompted a violent group to attack police with baseball bats and molotov cocktails as young bystanders watched passively, like spectators to the ‘riot show’,” said Comte.

He linked the latest outbreak to the 2005 suburban riots, France’s worst unrest in decades, when poor immigrant-heavy areas around Paris and other major cities exploded into three weeks of violence.

“Nothing has been resolved since. The fire is still burning under the ashes,” said Comte.

About 250 people took part in a silent march in Vitry-le-Francois on Sunday, led by the victim’s mother who wept as she walked holding a photograph of her son through the low-income neighbourhood of Rome-Saint-Charles.

The last time there was major rioting was in the Paris suburb of Villiers-le-Bel in November when two teenagers riding a motorbike died after they collided with a police car. The incident led to three days of riots.

More than 100 police officers were injured in Villiers-le-Bel when rioters armed with hunting rifles and pellet guns opened fire, a new, worrisome turn in the ongoing clashes with police in the suburbs.

I will continue to follow this, hopefully it won’t turn out into weeks of violence with scores of innocent civilians and others hurt, as it did in 2005. It will be interesting to see how Sarkozy responds to these incidents in comparison to former French President Jacques Chirac.
