The Anti-Obama March on Washington – Millions in attendance?

Posted by Admin on September 13, 2009

UPDATED: There are updated numbers from the U.S. Parks Police — they now estimate that 1.2 Million Protesters attended the Grassroots March on Washington on 9/12/09.

March on Washington

The blog “Exposing Obama” has posted information about the march today including pictures of the crowds.  There are several different versions on the count going around.  NBC’s “own people” say at least hundreds of thousands”, and the Daily Mail in the UK are reporting up to 2 million were there.

They had to close down Pennsylvania Avenue to accomodate protestors who were trying to get to the mall.

This was a great day for our country, for so many to take time out and come tell our government “in person” that we are TIRED of the lies, and the out of control slide into a Communist or Fascist country.

Be sure to check out the coverage – print, video & pictures!

Posted by Admin on August 19, 2008

A small Northern Texas School District has voted to allow teachers to carry guns when classes resume later this month. If the plan goes through they will be the first in the nation to take this step to protect the defenseless children and adults in our public schools.

~ FOCUS PAGE PUBLISHED: Weston HS School Shooting – Cazenovia, WI and Memorial Info.

Posted by Admin on October 2, 2006

Dear Readers,

I have created a Focus Page covering the Weston High School Shooting which took place in Cazenovia, Wisconsin on September 29, 2006. The Focus Page includes a summary of the events, information about memorial services for both Principal Klang, and the Weston HS student Erik Fichtel who was killed in a car crash earlier that morning, and a transcript of the first press conference held the day of the incident.

The page also includes what will be a continuously updated listing of information, media articles, video, audio & slideshow links, links to related columns and editorials as well as other semi-related media offerings, message board information, downloadable documents, and more detailed information about the car accident that claimed the life of Erik Fichtel.

You can access the in-depth coverage here;

Following is memorial information for both Weston HS Principal John Klang, and Weston HS Student Erik Fichtel:

Prayers for comfort and strength for the family, and all the friends and colleagues of Mr. John Klang.

John Klang will forever be remembered by all who hear his story as a brave hero, who gave his life in defense of others. I did not know Mr. Klang, but his friends and colleagues obviously had a lot of love, and respect for him as evident in their praise, not only of his heroic actions that day, but in the way he lived his life. If we can take anything away from this tragedy perhaps it is to aspire to be the same kind of person Mr. Klang was — to give of ourselves to others in need.

Visitation for Principal John Klang will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Farber Funeral home in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. A funeral service will be held for John on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Weston High School Gymnasium in Cazenovia, Wisconsin.

Prayers of comfort and strength are also being said for the family and friends, of Erik Fichtel, a 16-year-old Weston Schools Student who was killed in a car accident on Friday September 29th just minutes before the tragic school shooting. The funeral for Erik Fichtel will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Lime Ridge Catholic Church, in Lime Ridge, Wisconsin.

The whole community of Cazenovia and the surrounding rural communities are also being offered prayers as the impact from this double tragedy has got to be especially devastating to this extremely small area.

~ SPECIAL REPORT: School Shooting West of Madison, Wisconsin

Posted by Admin on September 29, 2006

School Shooting in Cazenovia, Wisconsin:

I regret to inform my readers that Weston Schools Principal Mr. John Klang has passed away from injuries received in the shooting this morning. Mr. Klang gave his life attempting to disarm the gunman and protect his students and staff. A true hero, and on all accounts a very good man.

Prayers of strength and comfort to Mr. Klang’s family, the school students, staff, Law enforcement officers, and the whole community affected by this tragedy.

To add to the devastation facing this VERY small community, another student who attends the high school was killed when his vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, crashed into a tree about 3-4 miles from the school. He had passed an officer on patrol prior to the accident, but the officer was not in pursuit (trying to catch up, but with no lights or sirens). More information about the accident is in the press conference transcript below. The identity of the student has not been released pending notification of family. Also see the article below.

~ Gun-Free School Zone Laws Put Children At Increased Risk

Posted by Admin on September 28, 2006

UPDATE: August 19, 2008
A Texas School District recently voted to allow teachers and administrators with the proper certifications to carry guns within the school.  To read an article about this decision as well as links to more information, please see the following post here at The Liberty Rocks Blog – Texas School District To Allow Teachers to Carry Guns

Do “gun-free school zone” laws put our children at greater risk? And, what lessons can we learn from yesterday’s tragedy at Platte Canyon High School in an effort to prevent future, perhaps even more horrific tragedies.

I would like to take a moment to remark on one the issues that will most assuredly assert itself in light of the tragedy at Platte Canyon High School yesterday. Many people were reminded of the horrors of Columbine, especially because the responding law agencies were the same as on that day (with the exception of Park County). Colorado media sources have already sought commentary from the parent of one of the Columbine students, Mr. Tom Mauser, whose son Daniel was killed at Columbine*. Mr. Mauser took the tragedy of his son’s death as impetus for pushing for a slew of gun-control laws that ultimately disarm the wrong people. Even here in Wausau, Wisconsin the newscasters at ABC’s Channel 9 (WAOW-TV) showed as a feature related to this tragedy information about a group, Student Pledge, Inc., that was created in the wake of Columbine which focuses on ending school bullying which was a factor in the Columbine tragedy, but has absolutely nothing to do with the events in Bailey yesterday.

While these activists, and their intentions are good, and – in the case of the group featured during the WAOW News Broadcast – can help to decrease school violence perpetrated by fellow students, many are missing the real lesson that can be learned from this tragedy. That is, in my opinion, the fact that our students in classrooms across the country are “sitting ducks” for those criminals considering these types of actions. In particular the “gun-free school zone” laws only exacerbate the situation.
