Staff Sgt. Williams was previously awarded the Bronze Star medal for his work dismantling hundreds of roadside bombs and other IEDs during three tours of duty in Iraq. Williams is survived by a wife, LaStar, and a four-year-old son Malachi, who are staying with relatives in North Carolina.
