UPDATE: DOWNGRADED TO TROPICAL STORM

This year brings us yet more storms to watch and worry about. The first is Tropical Storm, Hurricane Tropical Storm Alberto which is poised to make landfall somewhere along the shore in Gainesville, Florida last I checked. For those of you interested in keeping and eye on this storm over the next day or two…

FLASHBACK: Hurricane Katrina…
Last year I was swept up in all the coverage of Hurricane Katrina. I watched live web cams from the French Quarter, posted in LIVE discussion threads and watched local news coverage as the hours to landfall approached. I stayed right on watching the local news coverage, and storm reports in the days and weeks following Katrina as well.
