SPAIN:
- “SPAIN ENDS SUBSIDY TO CHURCH” – by Renwick McLean – The International Herald-Tribune (IHT) – The New York Times Company – Neuilly-sur-Seine, France – 22 September 2006
QUOTE:
The Spanish government said Friday that it would no longer offer a direct subsidy to the Catholic Church, adding to a deepening divide between religious conservatives and the governing Socialist Party.
Details of the move were outlined Friday by María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, the deputy prime minister.
The church would still receive government funding, because taxpayers would still be allowed to direct a percentage of their taxes each year to the church. But the government would no longer add to the amount alloted by taxpayers to guarantee a minimum level of state financing for the church.
[. . .]
The church receives about €135 million, or $170 million, a year from the government. The direct subsidy that is to be eliminated accounts for about €30 million. Spain’s Conference of Catholic Bishops would not comment on the announcement.

[. . .] Joseph Bagley, 26, was arrested Friday morning at his apartment in Indianapolis. Police say they found chemicals, equipment, gas masks, air purification masks and unlabeled jars of chemicals and powders in Bagley’s apartment. Police also saw soldering equipment in plain view, as well as batteries taped together, wires and putty material attached to a metal tube.
Marion County Haz Mat were called to the scene and technicians determined that the chemicals and materials were being used to make a regulated explosive.
[. . .]
The apartment complex manager told police that a carpet cleaner contractor had written a note saying that Bagley’s apartment looked like a “terrorist cell”. Police say they found literature about Al Qaeda in Bagley’s apartment, as well as books on Muslim names, understanding United States documents and about Saddam Hussein’s bomb maker. [Cont'd...]

He said that whosoever was cleaning his apartment was just terrified of everything laying out. (It) Didn't really look dangerous at all." Captain Phil Burton of the Marion County Sheriff's office is also quoted in the article as saying that besides the computer taken that police also found "A lot of hazardous chemicals, a gas mask, some literature about al-Qaida, about Saddam Hussein and how to make bombs." According to Capt. Burton, Bagley "admitted to mixing several chemicals and in so doing used his gas mask and an exhaust fan." QUOTE:
[. . .] Although the law only rules out conversion through coercion or allurement, the objective is to create the impression that the Christian missionaries are up to no good. The fallout has been to intimidate them and keep the entire community under pressure. An occasional attack on churches and individual Christians, including nuns, has been the result of these tactics of the saffron brotherhood. [Cont'd...]

[NOTES: First, it's never a good idea to break the law, that's a given. Your best course of action is not to break the law. However, our Constitutional rights are there for a reason - especially the 4th, 5th & 6th Amendments contained in the Bill of Rights. It is of utmost importance to know your rights, and to exercise them. Sometimes, unethical police officers, or other agents of the state (meaning "officials with governmental authority") will attempt to get you to give up your rights, without you being aware of it. If you know your rights and assert them you can minimize or even prevent suffering the consequences of an unlawful action on the part of authorities. Knowing and asserting your rights makes you a better citizen, and provides an extra level of checks and balances within our society. Special Thanks to "Large" at FreeRepublic.com for this link. “BILL CLINTON FREAKS OUT [Excerpt from Live FOX News Interview with Former President Bill Clinton on Failing to capture Osama bin Laden. Title given by poster.]” – Posted by “sans1959socol” – YouTube – Posted on 22 September 2006
[NOTES: This video is an excerpt from a Live FOX News interview with Former President Bill Clinton on his failure to capture Osama bin Laden. "At least I tried. I tried and failed, but at least I tried." He mentions that Bush had 8 months and did nothing as far as capturing bin Laden. I'm sure most of my readers are familiar with Clinton's in-action in regards to terrorism during his presidency (1993 Twin Towers attack, Embassy bombing, USS Cole, etc...) If not I suggest you read Jayna Davis' "The Third Terrorist" in which she exposes irrefutable evidence that McVeigh and Nichols were working with Middle-Eastern terrorists. Understanding what she courageously lays out in this book it becomes obvious that the blame for 9/11 lies clearly with the Clinton Administration. If it wasn't for Jamie Gorelick's wall, and if they had investigated the Murrah Federal Building bombing thoroughly after it occurred they would've busted the ring of terrorists in Oklahoma that supported ALL of the 9/11 hijackers that went through Norman, Oklahoma in the years before the attacks (when they attended flight school and such). This ring of support still exists to this day I might add. THAT fact points to absolutely disgusting incompetence or a deliberate cover-up, IMHO.]
“EXECUTION OF A TEENAGE GIRL” – 48:29 minutes – Posted by Taitington, Director – YouTube.com – Posted at YouTube on 2 August 2006 – Originally aired on BBC2 in the UK on 27 July 2006.
QUOTE FROM POSTING NOTES:
On August 15th 2004, a 16-year-old girl was hanged in a public square in Neka, Iran, a small industrial town by the Caspian Sea. Her death sentence was for crimes against chastity.
Her name was Atefah Sahaaleh. The only evidence against Atefah was her own forced confession. Atefah railed against her judge in court for its unfairness, but this was her undoing. Judge Haji Rezai, who was also the local mullah, prosecutor and head of the city administration, personally obtained permission from Iran’s Supreme Court to execute her, and put the noose around her neck himself before she was hoisted on a crane jib arm to her death.
Using undercover footage, eyewitness accounts and drama recontruction, this film tells an unforgettable story of the life and tragic death of an ordinary teenage girl under Iran’s mullahs.
